In a quick summary, the story takes place in 1800s London, where ghouls, vampires, and every form of the occult run amok and threaten the people of the day. The children of Dracula have many stories, but this story focuses on the two illegitimate children, Dimitri and Quincey Harker, who have been fighting the threat of Dracula’s widowed wife, Verona, and her late daughter, Marya, who haunt and prey on the poor souls in London.
these are my ensemble sketches of the 5 more important characters in this story I’ve concocted. it is based on the Dracula/Helsing universe. I am combining any form of media that has covered these universes. On the left is my mood board to show my inspirations and research for this project. in order of the roles of the characters from left to right, Quincey (main character, Verona (main antagonist), Dimitri (second main character), Cora (support), Marya (side antagonist)

I chose Marya as my subject for the last two stages. Here’s her turnaround plus an expression test to get used to her. She is supposed to be a wispy and uncanny character who uses her late decapitated head as a lantern to light her way across her mansion or the back alleys of London to catch her prey. Shes also supposed to be doll-like with her stiffens in her movements or poses

For the final dynamic pose, I worked hard to create a sense of movement, which was challenging since most poses I found with a lantern were extremely stiff. However, I believe I managed it well. I have included the fully rendered piece first and the unrendered version below so you can see the little details that the first image might not show.
